For over 33 years the MAGIC LANTERN has provided the valley's most popular and comfortable movie going experience. Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions: No, the Magic Lantern does not own or operate the other small Ketchum theater or the one in Hailey. They are (to the best of our knowledge) owned and operated by a Theater Chain based in Southern California. Despite the competitions' advertising inference to the contrary The Magic Lantern also has 6 channel digital stereophonic sound in all of its auditoriums and some of the biggest screens in the valley. (Actually the biggest screen in the valley is at the Sun Valley Opera House). The Magic Lantern also has high back seats--IN FACT, IT IS THE ONLY THEATER IN THE VALLEY WITH TEMPURPEDIC FOAM ROCKERS--they are the most comfortable seats in the theater industry today. Although we do not have stadium style seating, our leg room is plentiful. We like to think of it as stadium seating without the (groan!) steps.
